The south is very different from the rest of Lefkada, with lush valleys and big bays and headlands. The Vasiliki/Syvros valley is the main part where several walks are possible. Streams and springs run all year.
In contrast the long high headland running down to Cape Doukato is wilder and more remote, but with several famous beaches on the western side.
Vasiliki is a long establish resort with a long beach and sheltered bay. It is a world-class windsurfing location due to regular afternoon blows and flat waters. As a result, it has a relaxed beach-bum vibe.
